Moving is hard enough on you but your kids can really suffer, especially when it comes to changing schools (not even to mention the pandemic).
Kid's may not show their nerves in an obvious way and it may not seem like a big deal but it effects all children differently.
Making it easier on your kids doesn't have to be obvious either. Here are some tips to help them out.
1. Buy them their favourite school supplies; Pens, Markers, coloured pencils, crayons, pencil cases, back packs
Having items that they like will make them comfortable and confident.
2. Look into what's popular for their age group; clothes, school supplies, masks.
Having kids come up to your kid and compliment them will boost their confidence and might even make them a new friend to show them around.
3. Teach your children to be kind.
You Catch More flies with Honey than Vinegar. being kind to everyone the same way.
4. Take them in to visit the school and the teacher before they start classes.
They'll get a feeling for their new area, learn where they will be putting there things, where they will sit and meet the person they will be spending a lot of time with.
5. Talk to them, and LISTEN to their reponses.
Making time for your kids is something that may be hard to do when you're in the process of moving and settling in. Your child will probably need a sound board and some guidance when learning to deal with their new school. Your advice could mean the world to them.
