Getting a letter like this in the mail might spark your interest, but, it's a good idea to think twice.
Recently we’ve been receiving an abundance of these letters in the mail, sometimes even three a day.
Let’s think this through – they say upfront they are not Realtors®, how then are they qualified to give real estate advice? Especially pricing of something as large as your home? Likely your largest asset!
Who are these people governed by?
- Realtors® attend school to be trained on how to professionally advise clients
- Realtors® have laws they must abide by and have a governing body who protects the public from unscrupulous people. www.RECO.On.ca
- Realtors® must attend continuing education to keep their license and knowledge up to date
- Realtors® have errors and omissions insurance to protect you the consumer
- The Realtors® on our team even continue to learn outside of RECO requirements to be as prepared as possible to do the best job for our clients
Who protects you the homeseller from these ‘buyers’ who are not Realtors® and therefore do not have access to the necessary information to provide you sound and true advice on selling what may be your largest asset?
X Unfortunately the answer is no one!
These businesses, and they are businesses, are not governed by an organization who has you the consumers best interest as a top priority.
If it seems too good to be true, it just may be so!
